I’ve had someone close to me suffering with this and thought that you or someone in your family may be suffering from this as well. My friend got to having such bad heartburn that he quit eating anything spicy. Even high acid food like tomatoes and many other things in his diet would trigger acid reflux. Another friend of mine is taking anti-acids but doesn’t seem to think it is fixing anything because the symptoms come right back when he stops the medications.
If you look up GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disorder) You will find that it is the loss of pressure between the sphincter and the stomach. Medical experts say it is a relaxation of the sphincter (valve) at the top of the stomach.
Heartburn is often a symptom of GERD caused by acid reflux. So it appears as if all of these issues are linked back to this one root cause.
Are you struggling with any of these symptoms? If so, you may learn from the struggles my friends have experienced.
Another friend of mine was having digestive issues, so he cut all fermented foods out of his diet. It worked to an extent, but limited a lot of foods he could eat because he also had to also remove many raw foods from his diet as well.
I don’t know if you’ve thought about how frustrating this is, but for me when I want to eat healthy, having handy raw foods around just makes things easy. Would you agree? It is easier to eat healthy when you can prepare a nice bowl of fresh vegetables you can grab a few pieces of throughout the day… They are just so handy!
The medical research will say these 3 issues are caused by pregnancy, smoking, obesity, Hiatal hernia etc… so there is not a lot of information or data out there about the actual causes of this combination of digestive issues.
Instead, the research talks about the risk factors, the related triggers and medications for relief but no answers to the cause.
There are basically 3 types of medications people end up using for Acid Reflux, GERD & Heartburn:
All 3 of these reduce the acid in the stomach and have pretty scary side effects…
Side effects of PPI (Protein Pump Inhibitors) are:
Side Effects of Tums (too much Calcium Carbonate)
Side Effects of H2 Receptor Blockers
All of these medication types also cause a condition called “Achlorhydria” – A condition where you don’t have acid in your stomach anymore. You could also have decreased Achlorhydria – which is a decreased amount of acid in your stomach.
The side effects of not having acid in your stomach are:
So the medications that are supposed to treat the symptoms actually add to the problem.
So what causes Acid Reflux, GERD & Heartburn?
Is it too much acid? That is more of a sour stomach that can lead to gastritis. Probably not…
With all of these, you are having too much of the stomach acid splashing up into the valve on the top of the stomach.
So what causes this?
Autonomic Nervous System problems and a few other physical conditions that cause low stomach acid include:
So if lack of stomach acid is causing the condition, adding acid back into the diet can often make these conditions go away. Things like apple cider vinegar or Betaine HCL can help bring stomach acid levels back to normal.
So there is a relationship between the stomach acid and the sphincter valve. If the stomach acid stays the right pH (between 1-3) the valve will stay closed nice and tight.
If you have these make sure you fortify your body with:
Zink, Potassium, Sea salt, Iodine, and B3
I hope this has been helpful in your day. A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar once or twice a day in a glass of water does wonderful things for the digestive system. Another is organic lemon juice is very good for this. The lemon juice also defends your body from making kidney stones.
I look forward to hearing from you. Let me know if you want further product recommendations and I will get those over to you.
Until Next time, this is Nurse Mary and Be – Well!
Irritated joints, irritation in the digestive tract, even high blood pressure and allergies can be a sign of inflammation.
Autoimmune disorders can crop up from unmanaged inflammation.
Inflammation culprits can be many and depending on who you are. Things that irritate me could be different from what irritates you, and vice versa.
Inflammation doesn’t only affect joints. You may not have known that irritation of the digestive tract often follows that of the joints.
Take a guess at what the # 1 inflammatory food is? You guessed it. Sugar.
This is a shocking observation, but the reality is that it’s everywhere and extremely hard to avoid.
Besides sugar, there are many foods we eat that the body processes just like sugar.
White flour products such as donuts, cakes, white bread & desserts are all broken down and used by the body in a very similar way.
Sugar by itself can pose threats to our health, however, these problems can be amplified significantly when this sugar is mixed with fat. For example Ice cream, donuts, and other sweet treats you’re surrounded by tend to raise your risk of inflammation greatly.
Speaking from my own experience, I have a friend that brought his blood pressure down simply by removing ice cream and most deserts from his diet.
It wasn’t enough to get off his blood pressure medication, however, it was enough to keep his blood pressure from creeping up.
Surprisingly, one of the things that cause inflammation isn’t actually food itself, it’s the additives that are often found in the foods we buy.
Things like dies, preservatives and other chemicals cause a lot of inflammation in our body because they are foreign objects our body doesn’t know what to do with.
Yes, you guessed it, foods such as the ones we were raised on, right from the earth.
Eat more foods the way God made them like our parents and grandparents used to eat
– Foods procured by the sweat of our brow.
Sometimes we develop bad habits of eating packaged foods because it tells us grams of carbs, protein, fat, fiber, etc., but look at all the stuff we can’t pronounce…
I get it, I do it myself! Don’t get me wrong, I want you to become a label reader. Often it is a safer choice to put it back if it has more than 3 ingredients or things you can’t pronounce.
Some fruits have an over-abundance of natural sugar in them, which can be concerning. However, vegetables have a natural balance of carbs, fiber, protein and calories. Therefore you don’t have to worry about the caloric amount of vegetables.
If you have trouble with raw vegetables, steam them. This allows you to keep some of the nutrition without cooking everything away.
Thank you for your kind attention. I look forward to coming alongside you in your quest for better health.
Isn’t that what you want? Better health, to be able to continue to do the things you love to do longer?
You Can! Never give up on that dream. We want to come alongside you and help you on that quest. I’m Mary Howard RN. Until next time be well!

Put yourself in positive surroundings – a walk, pleasant places in nature, calm spaces, images that lift you up. We have identified 4 things that may help to inspire you in your day, and in your life.
Break your pattern of routine and do something that is adventurous to you. A walk, a bike ride… or something even more intense. What is something you can do physically to activate your brain, your body, and your breath? Those things energize you and open you to new ideas and thoughts.
Get outside your norm and go somewhere completely different from your typical routine. They are good for you even if you have to schedule your adventure out for a future time in your life. Make those bucket lists. Those are some of the things that will enrich your life.
Be inspired by visiting places where people from history thrived. These are archives of great accomplishments.
Even though they are from the past they can still inspire you to look forward. These people just lived their lives, they didn’t know that they were shaping history.
See the passion and enthusiasm of others and live vicariously through their energy.
Even if they are not in an area you would normally be interested in it still helps open your mind and energy and inspiration.
Part of this is getting out of your own bubble. Meeting new people helps break your own boundaries of thinking and gives you other perspectives to see things from.
This doesn’t sound as exciting as the other items but it is a chance to “hang out” with yourself.
Think about what you actually want in life. Write out your own ideas and see how you matter, how you are enough. See what your dreams are and how they are important.
You have got to do the work. What do you want life to be about? When you do this you will start to feel inspired more often.
I hope this has been helpful in your day. We want to inspire you to move forward in your journey of life & of better health. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me, simply reply to this email.

Have you ever struggled with heavy bleeding? Hemorrhage or even simply really heavy periods? How about menopause issues? How about Cysts, Ovarian Cysts or Endometriosis?
Some of my very close friends and I have suffered with these issues. It is really important for me to share what I came across. In fact, I don’t understand for the life of me why it is not being shared more publicly!
As uncomfortable as it is for me to talk about, I’ll tell you that I had some major bleeding issues while going through Menopause. I didn’t want to have to talk about it or even deal with it but it was affecting my productivity in a major way in my life. As a Mom, as a wife, at my work, at managing my home, it felt like it was all caving in on me.
From my medical background, I had heard of Vitamin K but had dismissed the idea of using it because it causes blood clotting so quickly that the conclusion was it was dangerous to take as a supplement. I decided I wanted to try just a little of it to see if it would help me.
Talk about opening a can of worms. I found out there is a huge difference between vitamin K1 & Vitamin K2 – Vitamin K1 is just what I had know about. It helps the blood to clot and has very little other function in the body.
Vitamin K2, on the other hand, has so many benefits that you must to hear about! It is good for young women, older women & even men 🙂
It supports the heart, the brain, and has a major role in calcium absorption in our body.
Here are the details of my research if you would like to read it:
Health benefits and sources of vitamin K. Vitamin K refers to a group of fat-soluble vitamins that play a role in blood clotting, bone metabolism, and regulating blood calcium levels. The body needs vitamin K to produce prothrombin, a protein. Prothrombin is a clotting factor that is important in blood clotting and bone metabolism.
Vitamin K is also given to treat and prevent vitamin K deficiency, a condition in which the body doesn’t have enough vitamin K. It is also used to prevent and treat weak bones (osteoporosis) and relieve itching that often accompanies a liver disease called biliary cirrhosis.
Vitamin K activates proteins that play a role in blood clotting, calcium metabolism and heart health. Controlled studies in people also observe that vitamin K2 supplements generally improve bone and heart health, while vitamin K1 has no significant benefits.
Blood clotting, which prevents excessive bleeding. (K1 is what prevents a paper cut from becoming dangerous.)
Helps direct calcium to the right places (into bones and teeth and out of soft tissues like arteries and kidneys)
May help support bone, heart and brain health.
Vitamin K2 dosage for adults: Between 100-300mcg per day is considered a standard dose. Dosages up to 600mcg per day for certain conditions may be necessary.
Vitamin K1 is primarily found in leafy green vegetables, while K2 is most abundant in fermented foods and some animal products. Vitamin K2 may be absorbed better by the body, and some forms may stay in the blood longer than vitamin K1. These two things may cause K1 and K2 to have different effects on your health.

p.s. Do you want to know what product I use now every day? Here are a couple of my favorites that I use and didn’t want to keep this from in case it is something that might make as big a difference in your life as it has in mine.
These 2 are my favorites:
Vitamin D with K2 – Super easy to take (just 6 drops of oil)
Vitamin K2 + Resveratrol – A small capsule that has Vitamin K2 & the added anti-inflammatory benefits of Resveratrol.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
Small steps over time – and be intentional about those steps.
Be intentional that you want “change” and what that ideally looks like to you
Maybe even to have a better outlook on life?
We live in a world where we worry about what others think, about being judged by others. Being “liked” by others…
Sometimes this clouds our judgment. You will find that showing up as yourself (really digging in and deciding what better health looks like for you) is when being better to yourself and making healthier choices truly works.
If you can find a way to put the fear of what others are going to think aside when it comes to being more active, eating better, taking a certain supplement or avoiding a certain medication, you will be significantly more likely to succeed.
Change by moving away from something – you want less of and – move toward something you want more of.
I am passionate about helping you on a path away from things that are holding you back in life to leading you to open up your life to a place of abundance. I am beyond excited – to help you with that…
The desire to change is going to be that thing that helps you push through on those days when you just don’t feel like doing it. Days when things feel hard or you don’t feel motivated.
Giving yourself a sense of urgency will help you get going and do something to propel you forward even if it is not perfect.
That desire to change is what’s going to keep you moving forward – so you really need to figure out YOU – what is the “desire to change” in your life?
Becoming unhealthy didn’t happen overnight so getting healthy probably won’t happen overnight either.
There is no such thing as “not having to do work” and to become successful
Gradually increase the number of healthy things you integrate into your life. Not letting old habits creep back in.
If you have a great recipe or simple tip or trick that is working for you please share it forward. If it is something others could benefit from I will do my best to share it with our Natural Health Groupies.
If you like this content I hope to bring more of this kind of content on our Facebook page as well.
We also have a closed group called Essentially YOURS for those interested in learning more about essential oils, recipes and other Natural Solutions for health.
Just wanted to come along side you and encourage you in your day. These things are truly the things that matter on your journey to being a healthier version of you.

I recently found this image and thought it such helpful info I had to share:
Herbs that lower blood sugar: Cinnamon, Clove, Rosemary, Oregano, Sage, Curry, Garlic, Ginger, Turmeric, Cayenne & Marjoram.
Cinnamon works by lowering insulin resistance. Researchers found that cinnamon cut cholesterol by about 18% and blood sugar levels by 24%.
Probably the most enjoyable of herbs that lower the blood sugar to take.
You can use the Cinnamon spice or you can use the essential oil.
A therapeutic grade essential oil has a nice kick to it and can grow on the taste buds making it very enjoyable to use several times a day.
I like to put 2 or 3 drop on a teabag or on loose leaf tea leaves, then make tea as usual and the oil emulsified into the tea.
As you build a tolerance to it you can drop 1 or 2 drops under the tongue
cloves are good for diabetics. A research shows that the compounds found in cloves may help keep blood sugar under control. As little as one teaspoon of the super-star spice is enough to reap benefits.Read More…

When we think about anti-inflammatory foods we have to think about 2 aspects of an anti-inflammatory diet. Foods we can eat and the foods we need to avoid. Some foods irritate the digestive system and ultimately the joints and some foods calm the digestive system causing less body system irritations. We will look at several of these pieces.
The other piece of this is that it will look different for you than it will for me and different for me than someone else you know. There may be some family similarities but not always.
One thing to you might consider if you are really ready to figure out what foods are bothering you the most is to try a 30-day whole food re-set. I have done one and it is really eye-opening. I am not the best guide on one of these so I will refer you to a book if you are interested in doing that.Whole: The 30 Day Whole Foods Challenge
What I will do for you though is help you with some basics. There are actually groups of inflammatory foods. So you may be sensitive to one but not the other. That is why eating a clean diet for 3 weeks to 30 days is so helpful when beginning this journey.
Sugar is probably the most inflammatory of all the foods. We have a list of sugars and hidden names for sugars. Most sweeteners are really not safe either because they are highly processed foods. The only sweetener that I trust is Stevia. There are some good stevia choices now that don’t leave a bitter after taste. Let me know if that is something you are interested in.

Essential Oils have many different usages. Knowing what essential oils should be diluted on sensitive skin (S), what essential oils should always be diluted (D) and what essential are safe to use directly on the skin – Neat (N) – is very important.
Along with that information, it is also important to know what Oils can be used where. We have put together a list of Application Methods.
All the oils can be used Aromatically (A) this would mean things like smelling them from the bottle, placing them in a diffuser or applying them to a natural diffuser, like jewelry, reed diffuser or other items. Many oils are safe to use Topically (T) on the skin. Then several essential oils can be used internally (I) if the oils are a Therapeutic grade of essential oils.
|~||SKIN SENSITIVITY||APPLICATION METHODS||~|
|N – Neat – Can be used topically without dilution||A – Can be used aromatically|
|S – Sensitive – Dilute for young or sensitive skin||T – Can be used topically|
|D – Dilute – Always dilute before using Topically||I – Can be used internally|
We have put together an extensive chart below for your reference. This Video will help describe some of these details. It will also show you how you can easily use this quick reference chart.

We will look at why some meat is better than others for you and why some fats are better than others for you. What are these Omega fats, anyway? We will also look at why the fat ratio of meat and eggs can be affected by the animal’s feed and living conditions. We’ll also touch on the fact that, just because an animal was raised on organic feed it still may not have the nutrients needed to make their meat healthy.
To figure out what Omega fatty acids are we will touch on just the basics. Fats are compounds called Lipids. They are chemical compounds of Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. Fatty acids are the refined fuel forms of fat and some cells, like the heart, prefer them over glucose (sugar). Fatty acids are named according to the number of carbons in their chain, for example: Omega 3, Omega 6. Because there are fewer carbons in an Omega 3’s chain has some to do with why they are better for you. Your HDL (good Cholesterol) comes from Omega 3’s.
Now we need to know this because there are certain Fatty Acids that are considered “Essential” meaning that we need to get them from the foods we eat. They are Linoleic, Linolenic and Arachidonic. But actually Linoleic is the only one that our body can not make so it is dependent on diet.Read More…

No, not THAT Recovery….recovery from athletic competition and general strenuous physical exercise.
Ask any competitive runner, “What is the one thing that keeps you from improving your times?” and they will tell you, “Recovery time.”
There you have it; the most common complaint from any athlete on the planet. People who train must have time for their muscles and tendons to mend and their aerobic systems to adapt. Precious time. They often take every form or vitamin and mineral ever devised by humans and yet, it still takes time…no matter what.
Here’s a true story about a man named Chuck Cash. He was formerly in the U. S. Army for 20 years, retired and begin working as a successful salesman at age 47. His favorite pastime was competitive running; 5K’s, 10K’s, full marathons and rapidly fading dreams of one day competing in Tri-Athlons and pure fantasies of being a ranked Iron Man.Read More…
Resveratrol is a phytoalexin, a class of compounds produced by many plants when they are infected by pathogens or physically harmed by cutting, crushing, or ultraviolet radiation.
Resveratrol has many health benefits but the simplest way to describe it as a supplement that nourishes the Mitochondria in the body. It seems to roll back the effects of aging on the cells.

Jo’s Journey with her Grandson who had Severe Eczema
Atopic Dermatitis – is dry, itchy skin and rashes on the face, inside the elbows and behind the knees, and on the hands and feet. Scratching the skin can cause it to turn red, and to swell and itch even more.
Here is a real story with amazing results with just a few simple dietary suggestions as a result of a BioMeridian Scan.
Jo’s Grandson suffered from Eczema and had been to many doctors. The family was frustrated with no real good answers to how to best help this child. They went to Dermatologists and tried multiple kinds of creams and other remedies without good results.
Somewhere between the age of 1 and
His Primary Care Doctor and even a Dermatologist continued to prescribe Steroids and other creams –
I helped my daughter with home remedies and she eliminated milk and other foods.
At one point the Dr did a blood test to identify allergies but nothing healed his skin.
The raw patches on the back of his knees, legs and feet were so severe that he got a staph infection,
I turned to Evelyn…
Her scan results showed Gluten (which earlier I said we had eliminated foods but it was her total results that made the difference)
Sun Screen also showed as skin issue – which putting Sun Screen on his fair skin was always a fight and he would fuss and this we passed it off as just being difficult. We studied Gluten and became aware of everything that has Gluten – It was summer and we switched to a Zinc Sunscreen.
The Little Guy detoxed for about 30 days and then his skin became clear and that little 5-year-old was so happy! He took over his health even at his young age, being aware of what he ate, and would remind you he needed the Enzymes.
This was something we struggled with for over 3 years and so Grateful for Evelyn and how she helped us.
It was amazing to find out that the root of his skin problems came from within. That his digestive tract was yelling for help through his skin. His Eczema became so bad that he had sores on his legs. At one point the sores became infected with staph.
Often these things can be adrenal glands that are out of balance.
When your adrenal glands are out of balance often your hormones become out of balance.
There are a few herbs that help to support your adrenal glands and we wanted to share a few of those with you.

See our Article: Adrenal Fatigue and what you can do about it for more information.
Adrenal fatigue is a collection of signs and symptoms, that results when the adrenal glands function below the necessary level. Most commonly associated with intense or prolonged stress
By managing your stress, changing what you eat, when you eat and getting enough sleep you can do a bunch to help yourself.
The adrenal glands are small glands located on top of each kidney. They produce hormones that you can’t live without. Cortisol helps you respond to stress and has many other important functions. With adrenal gland disorders, your glands make too much or not enough hormones.
We all know they control your fight or flight but how does this help or hinder us in today’s fast pace high pace environment?
We are no longer being chased by tigers but to say we don’t have stress would be an understatement for most of us.
Managing stress is an important thing but not always 100% do-able.
The Adrenal Glands help the body keep the balance so that we can feel good and be on top of our game when we need to:
but what happens when we have too high a demands on our adrenal glands?
What if we work ourselves into a situation where we depend on the fight or flight body management of our adrenal glands all the time?
You guessed it these glands become “fatigued”

Hello and welcome to Powerline Health…
Meet Evelyn Hammon RN & Mary Howard RN
(If you prefer to read the content of this video we have it here for you)
This is my friend Evelyn Hammon, and she’s a registered nurse and has been working with people doing Bio-Meridian Scans for 18 years. As she became busier and busier, Evelyn couldn’t work all day doing scans and then mail product at night, it was too much! So we worked out a situation where I help people get the product they need and so I built the PowerlineHealth.com website and then you have the best of both worlds.
Mary is a registered nurse also, and we have loved working together for 10 years.
It is testing the electrical magnetic field of the body and it does it through what is known as acupuncture points or Meridian points. Hence the name of the equipment is a Bio Meridian scan.
This will measure all these points and show us where there are weak areas where there are inflamed areas and help us see how to rebalance those areas.
You actually don’t need to do anything specific. Just do what you normally do. If you normally have breakfast and have coffee, go ahead and have that before coming in. If you’re someone that does intermittent fasting and you don’t eat until noon and your appointment’s at nine, go ahead and do the same thing because we want to see how your body is acting in your everyday life and that will help us see if we need to alter anything. I see people here and run a computer scan on them and it gives us an idea of what their body needs.Read More…
I found this great recipe for a home-made vegetable wash. This is so easy to make and so handy to use. Vinegar and lemon essential oil have many antimicrobial properties so it works well to your vegetables with.
Lemon Essential Oil helps cut through the oily and waxy substances that are used on fruit and vegetables. Some of those substances on the fruits and vegetables are pesticides, some are substances stores use to make the fruit shine and stay fresh looking longer.
Spray this on your fruit or vegetables and wait a little bit – then wash. The other way is to put a 2 teaspoons in a basin of water and wash fruit with it.
The essential oils tend to float to the top of your spray so be sure to shake well before each use. Unless you emulsify the oils into the baking soda – We will show you how to do that on the video.
Vinegar and Baking Soda are important ingredients to help remove the pesticides from the fruit. While lemon has powerful abilities to kill bacteria.
If so you may be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue.
